Dedicated to Rebecca from Mike, Ann and sister Rachael

Plymouth University based in Exeter (Sports Science)

Liverpool Hope University (Childhood studies in youth, philosophy & Psychology)

During and After University

Rebecca (known as Bex) followed the footsteps of other family members and worked at Chester Zoo, where on breaks she visited her Grandparents, Kevin and Dolores Coriam, memorial bench that is situated in the grounds.

Rebecca worked at the Doubletree by Hilton, where her sister Rachael also works. Rebecca thoroughly enjoyed her time there and met a wide circle of friends with whom she always remained in contact with.

Bex With Monkey Hat

Bex joined the cadets as a teenager. After University she then went on to apply for a Staff Volunteer position within the British Army cadets. Rebecca was successful and participated in the Camping and Manoeuvres events.

Camp America

Rebecca went to Camp America for 4 months teaching sports activities. Bex first flew to New York, then caught a Greyhound Bus to Maine. Rebecca phoned Ann as often as possible and spoke about her adventures, often talking about Bears that lived in the area stating she wasn’t frightened of them. As Bex would say “you just clap to scare them away”.

Disney Cruise

Rebecca went to London for the interview with Disney Cruise Line, where hundreds of people were also being interviewed. Rebecca was successful and started working on the Disney Cruise Ship in June 2010.

Bex flew out to Florida and spent four days in the Disney World Park as part of training. She sailed her first cruise to the Bahamas, going to different ports including Castaway Cay on Disney’s Private Island (where the Black Pearl from the Pirates of the Caribbean is docked).

Bex spent four months on the cruise before returning home for two months. She spent the two months relaxing with friends, shopping for new clothes as a treat from her parents and keeping fit.

Whilst Bex was home, Ann bought Rebecca the Monkey Hat which she loved wearing, as it made everyone smile.

Rebecca & Rachael

Rebecca returned to America, to go on the Disney Wonder ship, which was sailing from LA to Mexico. She completed one trip visiting all ports along the Mexican Rivera and sailing the Panama Canal.

Panama Canal

During this Cruise contract Rebecca’s Grandad, Thomas Francis Jennings, sadly passed away. Rebecca returned home for two weeks to attend the funeral and be with family, especially her Mum due to Thomas being Ann’s father. Sadly, this was the last time the family saw Rebecca before she went missing.

While on her way to join the Disney Wonder…

She boarded the plane at Manchester, and flew south to Heathrow, where the Plane was unable to land, circling in the air, eventually being sent back to Manchester Airport. This was due to the bad winter weather, Ann and Mike had to return to Manchester Airport to pick her up.

They then had to take her back to Manchester Airport, where the replacement flight was delayed. She was flown to Dublin, where she was stranded, eventually making it to Florida. Rebecca found the whole event funny.
